Gabriel on Reparations

June 30, 2008
Reparations are a touchy subject for some people, but I am not included in that some. I was thinking about my political stance after an interesting talk with two of my friends a few nights ago (that is right, instead of having fun somewhere we were sitting around talking about politics). So yeah, back on the subject of reparations. For one it should not come in the form of money, or monetary value. Sadly most of our people wouldn’t know what to do with the money and would be fooled by Wal-Mart commercials. Basically the money going into our community would be back in the hands of the super white elite within a span of a decade at most. Plus that would plunge us into further national debt which isn’t really good for anyone.
So here is my solution to the whole ordeal. The United States government should first issue an apology to everyone of recent non-European descent (a PC term I use for people of color in my sociology papers, I’ll explain more later in the blog sometime) for everything evil that has been done against them. Secondly the government should immediately enact a policy where anyone who is Native American (claimed by a tribe, or can prove recent ancestry), was born in the United States and happens to be Black, or has at least one parent who was born in the United States should be given an all expenses paid trip to college for up to 6 full academic years.
The first 4 years would be strictly for undergraduates, and then if one chooses to further their education and get a MA, work towards their Ph.D., go into a professional program (law, medicine, business) then those other two years would kick into gear.

Some might argue that it isn’t fair because people don’t know who was actually enslaved and who is in the United States that didn’t have ancestors that were slaves. To them I say phooey! Black people get disadvantaged all of the time because of their skin color. Too many Blacks live in neighborhoods significantly below the poverty line, and don’t have access to the same education as their white counterparts. The same arguments can be made for Native Americans. Also anywhere that a Black person goes they are stigmatized as Black, as he must play basketball because he is tall, or she must have multiple children. This further disenfranchises ALL Black people and makes it hard for them to “make it out” without resorting to entertainment (the rap game which is destroying real music as there are only a handful of good ones left), illegal activities (that really shouldn’t be illegal), or athletics (which fail far more often than they succeed).

The reason why I say education is because it is the cure for ALL of society’s ails. Plus this will limit those unsavory Blacks who only wish to get money and waste it on grills, plasma televisions, and Rims. Thus making the super elite even more elite than they are now.

But, let us not forget the Mecca to all progressive white people (these people are cool…in most cases)…Europe! That is right! Europe doesn’t get off so easily either. In Europe’s case anyone in the EU should be force to provide access formal education to any sub-Saharan Black African.

Do I feel bad for writing this blog? No. Hell No. In fact the only other people I feel come even remotely close to receiving reparations are the immigrants and children of migrant workers that come here because NAFTA basically raped their countries. In that case they should be able to go to school anywhere in the United States or Canada for free.
